Traveling With a Child with Special Needs
Traveling by car this summer? You're not alone, but, if you're traveling with a special needs child, you might feel a bit overwhelmed. Stop that feeling by planning ahead. Make a list, and check it twice. Think about your daily routines and the items you might not be able to easily locate while away (feeding devices, special foods, medicines, etc). You might also want to consider car entertainment (toys, snacks, drinks, DVDs, etc). Give yourself plenty of travel time to account for extra stops and breaks from the car. Don't forget to check and see that your child's car seat is comfortable for a long trip. Good tips. we also use activity bags like the ones I wrote about at http://traininghappyhearts.blogspot.com/2010/04/thankful-thursday-v..., where maybe somebody will pick up and idea or two
