A network to share best practices for children with special needs
Now is the season when many school districts around the country are implementing testing procedures. Whether it's achievement tests, college prep exams or a weekly spelling quiz, all students, especially those with special needs, can benefit from some reasonable accommodations. Here are 7 of my favorite strategies.
In addition, I think all students can benefit from an easy relaxation routine to reduce testing stress. Simple breathing and visualization exercises can be customized to meet the needs of students of all ages and abilities. Check out the research-based program called Ready…Set…R.E.L.A.X by Allen and Klein where you'll find creative ways to help combat test anxiety and promote calm healthy minds.
What are your favorite strategies that help kids during testing time? Let us know!
