This is why I am passionate about special needs.
In June, I retired from teaching special needs children for 35 years. I realize how how lucky I am to have worked at what I love for all those years. Two years ago I discovered papermaking in the classroom for teaching curriculum goals. We won several awards for our paper program as an inovative teaching tool.
Skills: these are areas where I have expertise and might be able to help others.
RESOURCES
Needs: these are areas where I have questions and will be looking to learn from others.
INTEGRATIVE THERAPIES
The most valuable piece of advice I would offer to others regarding special needs.
Find something new every year to excite you about teaching.
What I hope to gain from My Special Needs Network
I would love to teach interested teachers to use papermaking in the classroom.

I understand from Sue that the link to our site, at the Pepsi Refresh Everything Grant, didn't work. Several months ago the paper making program that I started for my Intellectually Disabled students was featured on this site. We won several awards for innovative teaching and were featured in the news paper. Now I want to take the idea a step further by starting 50 new programs across the United States.
