Profile Information

My Role
Occupational Therapist
This is why I am passionate about special needs.
I am passionate about children and special needs because I believe there is potential in EVERY child; including children with special needs. Nothing makes me more happy than to see the smiles of parents, staff and children when they excel in a task or exhibit a skill NO ONE thought they would!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE working with children. Their laughter, courage, honesty and smiles keep me excited about being an OT!
Skills: these are areas where I have expertise and might be able to help others.
FINE MOTOR, SENSORY SOLUTIONS, VISUAL MOTOR
Needs: these are areas where I have questions and will be looking to learn from others.
BODY WORKS, INTEGRATIVE THERAPIES, RESOURCES
The most valuable piece of advice I would offer to others regarding special needs.
Patience and a sense of humor will take you far!
What I hope to gain from My Special Needs Network
I believe My Special Needs Network can help me in my practice as a school based OT. It is always great to have a group of peers to collaborate with, bounce ideas off of and learn from. I would also like to share some of my knowledge and "expertise" in any way I can.
