- This is why I am passionate about special needs.
- I have a son affected by Fragile X Syndrome. When he was young there was very little info available. I made it my goal to learn as much as I could. I have a real passion for sharing this knowledge, especially online through websites and social networking.
- Skills: these are areas where I have expertise and might be able to help others.

- What I hope to gain from My Special Needs Network
- Information, resources and spreading awareness of Fragile X Syndrome, the most common known genetic cause of intellectual disability with 1 in all 35 females and 1 of every 42 males at least being gray area carriers.

You have so much that you can teach those of us who are passionate and true advocates for children with special needs.....all children. I do a weekly blog on the network and would love to hear from you regarding any issues that you are facing with your son. What are your victories and what are your disappointments?
One issue that I am very passionate about is the education of “our” children. I am a former Director of Special Education and worked very hard to make sure the children were receiving appropriate accommodations so that they could achieve to their potential. Does your son attend public school? What have your experiences been?I would love to hear from you!
