This is why I am passionate about special needs.
Sometimes "I won't" means "I can't." I believe in the kids that are "slipping through the cracks." There is a physiological reason why children are not successful...especially at school. By understanding sensory processing, it is possible for ALL children to learn.
Skills: these are areas where I have expertise and might be able to help others.
BALANCE, FINE MOTOR, FURNITURE, INTEGRATIVE THERAPIES, RESOURCES, SENSORY SOLUTIONS, VESTIBULAR ORIENTATION, VISUAL MOTOR
Needs: these are areas where I have questions and will be looking to learn from others.
MOBILITY, POSITIONING
The most valuable piece of advice I would offer to others regarding special needs.
Understand that child by putting yourself in their shoes.

Did you know that this generation of kids is less likely to crawl than any generation in the history of toddlers? That is, if you live in the U.S. or the U.K. We have embraced the Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) "Back To Sleep" program which trains new Moms to place their babies on their backs to minimize suffocation risk. Gratefully, there has been a decrease in SIDS. We've just forgotten the second part of the message..."Tummy Time for PLAY." Why care… Continue

I am not sure this is the best way to contact you, but it is Saturday and I just got the go ahead to encumber the money for the CATT center.  The product has to be invoiced before Tuesday  9/13/11 to comply with these grant funds.  Hurry hurry as always with the school start up   I want to add some addtional move and sit products as well.  How should I do this quickly?  Can you contact me directly?  mhickey@tbaisd.k12.mi.us   I will watch for you.  enjoy the day !

Thanks Sue - I just posted the information for the webinar next week! I heard Diana had done a presentation at the SPD conference - didn't know that she has one for AOTA. I'll be doing three presentations for AOTA Conference this year - one on playgrounds and two on museums including a full-day institute!

Hope things are going well for you - by the way I now own the "How to Create Your Own Sensory Adventure Camp" Manual -
