This is why I am passionate about special needs.
A member of my family is dual diagnosed with ID/Schizophrenia. This lead to my Aunt becoming a special education parent/teacher/social worker. I followed her footsteps, or have tried, and became a special educator. I have a lot of experience with living with and working with special needs population from birth to adults.

Remember they are a child first. Their needs are just as unique and individualized as the rest of the world.

Knowledge in which I can gain to assist my special needs students and their parents. To become a more effective advocate.
