- This is why I am passionate about special needs.
- I have a 27 year-old daughter who is MUMH and mildly autistic. Over the years, I have learned meny things; some from professionals, some from friends, some from instinct and most from experience (trial and error), I have many times said, after the fact, "Why didn't anyone tell me that?" My goal is to help parents recognize some of the mistakes I made and also to let them know that life does go on. I write a blog about our journey. I do not give advice or magic recipes. I tell our experiences w/ truth, compassion and humor and hope that some parent will glean some insights.

A Journey Through Life With My 27 Year Old Autistic Daughter

My daughter was diagnosed as DD when she was 12 months old, then changed to MIMH when she entered public school. Even though I tried to get it done earlier, she was in third grade before the autism label was added.
