This is why I am passionate about special needs.
I continue to be challenged professionally as little ones with very special needs come to us with little schema, minimal communication and a look of hope.
My Role
Speech Language Pathologist
Place of Work
FCBOE, independent consultant
Skills: these are areas where I have expertise and might be able to help others.
BALANCE, BODY WORKS, COMMUNICATION, FINE MOTOR, INTEGRATIVE THERAPIES, POSITIONING, RESOURCES, SENSORY SOLUTIONS, VESTIBULAR ORIENTATION
Needs: these are areas where I have questions and will be looking to learn from others.
BALANCE, BODY WORKS, COMMUNICATION, FINE MOTOR, INTEGRATIVE THERAPIES, POSITIONING, SENSORY SOLUTIONS, VESTIBULAR ORIENTATION, VISUAL MOTOR
The most valuable piece of advice I would offer to others regarding special needs.
It's all about the relationship that occurs between you and the child.....trust will override any communication barrier.
