- This is why I am passionate about special needs.
- I have been a teacher for almost 30 years and all but 2 years have been special education. I have worked with all levels K-22 and my heart is with these kiddos. I am also head of our Special Olympic team in Galt for over 25 years.
- Skills: these are areas where I have expertise and might be able to help others.
- COMMUNICATION, FINE MOTOR, VISUAL MOTOR

- Don't just accept them as they are look through the disability and help them to excel in everything they do. Set your goals high as you get what you ask for.
- What I hope to gain from My Special Needs Network
- We are setting up a Therapy Room where Adapted PE, PT, OT etc. can work as well as a place to take our students with autism and work through sensory needs, etc. I am helping set up this room.

Years ago, I saw a need to educate teachers about the high school students in my SDC/LH/RSP program. Explanations and simulations of disabilities were developed to better understand the students. It was then when I realized how important it was to educate the teachers of students who were being mainstreamed into their classes. The "ah-ha" of understanding came when a Home Economics teacher finally understood why the young girl in her class was having such difficulties following recipes. …
