A network to share best practices for children with special needs
Yes, this is really the same closet! We built a workstation where the whole thing would be out of sight just by closing the door. Closing the door would mean less overall clutter. What was important was that we provide opportunities for organization, hence those yellow bins with labels to remind what goes where.
We bought a chair but did not use the back so that this wheeled stool could easily be stored right under the desk.
I also preferred a backless stool because it helps keep my son upright. Lastly, the space is quite like a carrel and this limits sound and visual distractions, just as a carrel would.
We also added some speakers because we have some real music lovers here.
Believe it or not, this whole production cost us less than $80 dollars to create.
