perserveration
I'm working with a young child (4) right now who has major problems with perserveration. For example she constantly changes clothing (parent has had to put a lock on the closet door)...cannot get pass the first letter of her name while learning to print....endlessly picks at any mark on her skin (marker...ink, paint)...anyway, I'm wondering where to start working on this with her....any suggestions?

Hi Diana, What is the child's diagnosis? Sounds like you might want to ask for a BCBA to come in and do a Functional Behavioral Assesment. she/he would take data, and develop a plan based on the data and observation and desired out comes. If here is no diagnosis, I would suggest starting there.
